Link Building by SEO MOZ

Yesterday, I watch the video seminar made by SEOMOZ guru. I forget the name and it does not matter.

What he said during gruesome 2 hours is about 8 best link building strategy. We listen very keenly and it did disappointment me because the speaker provided us nothing new in the link building strategy. Imagine wasting my time for 2 hours for the link building strategy that I already knew just to make sure we follow the instruction of our head.

Anyway, the number link building that this speaker told us are
1. tradional link building - It mean signing up to directory, offer exchange link and beg for the link from bloggers. Well he mention that google blogspot and wordpress sub domain are both quality link so never bother anymore launching new blogs in the future.

2. He mention a lot but this one is not really new to me . It is just confirming my previous reading.
Link bait can be attain by a quality content. A content that is well written, something like well research content. I know a lot of these content in the stumble upon. Just the website about collection of comedy is a good link bait  already because of the tendency of the reader to copy the comedy with the URL of the author. Poem, well research article that talks about current issues are best source of link bait.

3. Another link bait source are pdf, downloadable widgets, presentation and games.

4. The speaker did not mention about article submission so I managed to send inquiry through chat. The speaker able to read portion of my inquiry but he was not able to finish as so many inquiry keep the chat screen moving. Anyway we were able to save the chat and we will access it today once we come back in the office.

5. During the discussion, the speaker mention the best way to teach your link builder is doing link building together. It only means demonstration lesson and actual doing by the link builder. Well our  link builder is very good. She so fast and very knowledgeable.

There are either 7 or 8 link building strategies this author discuss but then again, It only satisfy me once. The link bait of course nothing else for everything is traditional. Imagine he even never mention the forum link building. Anyway he did mention that there is no need to target exchange link with similar theme or market. What you really need are high PR sites of any category. He did mention directory submission to avoid poor directory so when i come to office, i will ask our team member to set to no follow those PR 0 directory.

Accuracy of Google Analytic Stats

There is time we got a good hit because of the topic we select in posting updates. What surprised me is the big difference between Google analytic visits stats and the other analytics that i am using aside from Google analytic.

Googe visit stats give me 800 visits in that day. While the other tool that we are using provided us1736 unique visitors. I am not wondering which tool provide better result.

I will try to install another analytic tool and let see how it will work.

Google Change the PR at the end of October

Last Oct 30, 2009 the day is revealing day to all SEO specialist and all companies that expect customer from search engine. Google the mother of search engine who command more than 50% share of outline users. Google created a web page ranking system known for site authority. Google get the first page or rank 10 while yahoo got the page rank 9. There are many bookmarking sites that have PR 8 and PR7. The technology is simple, the higher the page rank the higher of chance in getting display in search engine which means more traffics.

Last friday of Oct 30, 2009 is a delayed quarterly page rank update for Google. I expect it at the end of September but it happen at the end of October. History tell us that Google Page Rank usually change by quarter so their will be 4 changes in a year.

Now my major website got something new. Our page rank 4 goes down to page rank 3. It happened to our 3 sites that enjoy PR 4 for almost 6 months. The good thing on our PR 3 sites is that keywords is getting better so we could expect visitors within the month of November from search engine. On the other hand, the other site that i usually work as SEO adviser got PR 3 from PR 4. The reason is that the number of back links that we usually enjoy got drop while the internal pages rise. Yes, most of the individual pages that we work got higher page rank as much as PR 2 while the rest got PR 1.

The blog that i maintained became victim of changes too. It enjoy quality back links but now i am feeling of the competition already. In my theory, even the PR changes traffic still the same yet we all know that everything have to be monitor. The biggest theory of them all is that " Will the traffic change as the PR 3 goes down?".

Let see after one month on the effect of the Google PR change...
